Most of my childhood and adolescence, I did not have the healthiest relationship with food. I was excited about nutrition from an early age, but it came from a place of feeling the need to be perfect which led to a ton of fad diets, restriction, and disordered eating patterns. The journey to loving my body and learning how to fuel it wasn't an easy one, and let's be real - self love is a lifelong effort filled with lots of ups and downs. But once I finally had food freedom I knew I wanted to help others find the same and that's when I decided to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
Over the last few years I've found huge passion in product development. I'm fascinated with the way food affects how we feel, including everything from inflammation to our quality of sleep. I've had fibromyalgia for over 10 years, and I've used food as one of the tools to decrease inflammation and overall chronic pain. About a year ago, I started incorporating adaptogens into my morning smoothies and was loving them! But on the days when I wasn't having a smoothie I had trouble finding ways to include adaptogens into my daily routine in a tasty and healthy way. As someone who is allergic to tree nuts, you could say I became a peanut butter snob at an early age since it's a legume and therefore safe for me to eat (thank God). Since I almost never go a day without my PB fix, I figured I could combine adaptogens into my creamy homemade peanut butter - and pure magic happened, aka Adaptogen Butter.
I started Rooted Life Foods not only to introduce Adaptogen Butter, but to connect and create a community that builds each other up, and empowers one another. I so look forward to discussions on wellness + nutrition, business, life, faith, and everything in between. Stay Rooted, my friends.
