Ashwagandha

Botanical Name: Withania somnifera

Ashwagandha (ash-wa-gone-duh) is an adaptogenic herb that has been used for thousands of years in Chinese and Ayurvedic Medicine. Also called Indian Ginseng or Winter Cherry, Ashwagandha is widely known and primarily used for it's anti-stress effects. While the herb is most touted for improving symptoms of fatigue and anxiety, it also appears to decrease inflammation and increase energy. Additionally, Ashwagandha is popular among athletes after clinical studies showed that it improves physical performance including strength and endurance. Because adaptogens "adapt" to what our body needs, Ashwagandha may give you the boost of energy you need in the morning or keep you calm & relaxed in the evening.*
